THE CHALLENGE
Owners Mel and Koko took ownership of Hillrose Pet Resort in 2005. The business was a perfect match for them and they were eager for success. Overtime, their client list became stagnant and their competitors were growing much faster and stronger. Mel reached out to a friend in his industry for marketing advice, and without hesitation they referred him to lodestar marketing group. When Mel came to us his business had little to no online presence and a very small budget.

The first step to improving our client’s online presence was to develop and launch a new website. Their previous site was extremely outdated and was not mobile or user friendly. We worked with the client throughout the development process to keep their brand and business goals top of mind. In the end, we provided a well-designed, highly functional and mobile responsive website. We even integrated an automated reservation system to streamline their sales funnel.
Search Engine Optimization
The next step to improving our client’s online presence was to include SEO Best Practice in their new website. We have provided Hillrose with SEO services from website development through to ongoing support. Throughout the SEO Strategy we have implemented the initial best practices, added new keyword focused landing pages, written highly optimized blogs and optimized the current user experience based off analytic results of behavior flow.
Pay-Per-Click Search Engine Marketing
We have made a huge impact to our client’s growth using pay-per-click search engine marketing. We run text and display ads through Google and Bing that are keyword and location focused to reach the ideal audience. Through A/B Testing and daily monitoring of the campaigns, we have been able to optimize these ads to achieve the maximum results. We favor a pay-per-click model over an impression based campaign so that our clients can pay a realistic dollar amount for their leads.
Social Media
Social Media has also made a strong impact on their customer growth. Through Facebook, we are building a relationship with their current client base and growing their followers. We are also targeting new customers by location and interests. This has already proven to take their new client growth to the next level.

Each month, we write two blogs to help promote their services. The blogs are used in social media campaigns, on their website and are sent to their customers through their monthly newsletter. This regular communication to their customer base has proven to increase customer retention.
